Start / Select continuously sends a signal

In this guide, you will learn how to diagnose and fix a problem with the start or select button that keeps sending a signal.

1. Diagnose which button is continuously sending a signal.

Check which button is stuck in the on position using the “Mat Tester” embedded in the LTEK Service Center (Google Chrome browser preferred). Connect the mat to the device and see which button is continuously sending a signal.

2. Disconnect the Mat and unscrew the start/select panel

After diagnosing which button triggers the signal, disconnect the mat and unscrew the Start/Select button panel, which is held in place by four Phillips screws.

This will not void your mat's warranty.

3. Put away the start/select panel

Once you have unscrewed all 4 screws, set both panels aside so that the controller and the PCB button board are visible.

4. Check the condition of the PCB board with buttons

The problem resulting from permanent input signal is caused by a short circuit between the upper plate and the pin located directly on the PCB.

The correct “idle” state is shown at the top, while the one that causes continuous input looks like the one shown at the bottom.

5. Bending the plate back to its base point

A situation in which the plate remains stuck in the closed position may result from prolonged use or damage during transport. To resolve the issue, gently bend the plate upwards so that it remains separated from the pin without assistance.

6. Functionality test

Reconnect the mat to the computer with the mat tester, check if the signal is still being sent this time, or if the problem has been resolved.

7. If the problem persists.

If for some reason the problem persists after completing the previous steps, please contact our technical support at the link provided and send a photo of the controller.
