A controller at the heart of your mat project

Bring a supported older L-TEK pad or a carefully planned DIY mat project onto the listed 32-bit ARM controller. LOOK CLOSER

The details that make the difference.

01

For supported older pads

The product lists previous DDR USB EX PRO and PIU EX PRO pads, as well as compatible DIY constructions.

02

Five plus two inputs

Five ESD-protected inputs serve the main controls, with two additional push-button inputs for a project’s extra controls.

03

32-bit ARM controller

The listed controller platform is intended for the mat’s input electronics, with connections that need to match your actual assembly.

04

1000 Hz USB polling

The stated polling rate corresponds to a 1 ms polling interval. It does not by itself describe the delay through the game, display and audio system.

05

Plan the installation first

Confirm board revision, input wiring and USB connections with L-TEK before modifying a pad. The photo is not a substitute for wiring instructions.

01 / Choose the right project

Start with your pad model and its wiring

The compatibility description names earlier DDR USB EX PRO and PIU EX PRO pads, alongside DIY constructions. That is a useful starting point for a replacement or custom build, but the actual installation still depends on the board revision and the way your controls are wired. Record the model of your existing pad and photograph its connections before planning changes. Ask L-TEK for the matching wiring information and confirmation of fit before ordering if anything is uncertain. For a pad that has stopped responding, begin with the detection guide: checking its cable and computer connection may identify a problem that does not require replacing the controller.

02 / Plan every connection

Five protected inputs and two extra controls

The controller offers five ESD-protected inputs plus two push-button inputs. Map those functions to the controls in your intended project only after obtaining the correct connection information for the supplied revision. Decide where the board will sit, how the USB connection will be made and how the wiring will be secured inside the finished assembly. ESD protection describes protection against electrostatic discharge; it does not establish that an input accepts an arbitrary external voltage. Treat this as an electronic component requiring a suitable installation. A controller replacement also needs compatible working sensors, switches and mechanical parts in the rest of the pad.

03 / Understand the specification

A fast polling interval is one part of timing

The product specifies a 32-bit ARM controller and a real USB polling rate of 1000 Hz. That rate describes how frequently USB input can be polled, with a nominal interval of one millisecond; it is not an end-to-end latency measurement for your complete game setup. After installation, verify each input in the computer and then map it in your chosen supported game. Check held inputs, releases and the combinations you expect to use before moving on to normal play. If a song still feels early or late, investigate game timing, display processing and audio configuration as separate parts of the setup.

A GOOD FIRST EXPERIENCE

Plan the wiring before fitting the board

This is a DIY electronic component. Obtain the installation information for the supplied revision before disconnecting or modifying a mat.

Already set up? Skip ahead ↓

  1. 01

    Identify the project

Record your pad model and current symptoms. For a repair, check USB detection and the cable before concluding that the controller needs replacement.

  2. 02

    Confirm the connection plan

Ask L-TEK for the correct wiring and electrical requirements for the supplied revision. Identify the five main inputs, two extra controls and USB connections from those instructions.

  3. 03

    Fit with power disconnected

Have the board installed using the confirmed wiring information and suitable electronics skills. Secure the board and wiring before reconnecting USB.

  4. 04

    Test and map the controls

Check every input and release on the computer, then map the controls in your game. Calibrate game timing separately from the controller’s polling specification.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Good questions.
Useful answers.

Find the answer here, then follow the guide if you want the detail.

Will this fit any L-TEK mat?

The listing names older DDR USB EX PRO and PIU EX PRO pads, not every controller or later mat design. Confirm your exact model and board revision before ordering.

Ask about your pad model

Is it a plug-in replacement that needs no wiring?

This is a DIY mainboard. Do not assume that the connections and installation are identical to your existing controller; obtain the correct instructions first.

Can I use it for any custom electronic project?

The product is presented for compatible mat constructions. The published input counts do not establish arbitrary voltage, analogue sensor, motor, robot or console compatibility. Confirm the intended circuit with L-TEK.

Does 1000 Hz mean one millisecond from foot to screen?

No. A 1000 Hz polling rate corresponds to a nominal one-millisecond polling interval. Sensor behaviour, the game, display and audio contribute to the experience separately.

Read the timing guide

Are cables and replacement sensors included?

This listing is for the controller mainboard. Ask L-TEK to confirm which cables, sensors and mounting parts your installation needs and what is supplied before ordering.

Where can I get the pinout and installation instructions?

Request the wiring information for the supplied board revision directly from L-TEK. Check this before purchase if the fit or electrical requirements determine your project.
