Art across the full pad
The image extends across the glossy black playing surface with high-resolution digital UV printing. This edition has its own selected artwork.
Four active arrows
The Artist Edition keeps the four-arrow DDR-style PRO X gameplay layout. Full-surface printing does not make every visible panel an active input.
PRO X construction
PRO panels, aluminium borders, ABS bumpers and anti-slip stands combine in a substantial 18 kg mat designed for bare feet or sports shoes.
1000 Hz USB polling
The high-speed controller supports a nominal 1 ms USB polling interval and a low sensor stroke. End-to-end timing also depends on the game, screen and audio setup.
A practical wired setup
Connect through the protected USB socket using the included detachable USB-A to USB-B cable. A compatible computer and rhythm game complete the setup.

The 2023 Artist Edition 001 brings Alice in Wonderland by Karolina Skorek onto the PRO X surface. Its high-resolution print carries the design across the glossy panels, making the mat a visual part of the room as well as a place to play. This is a selected artist edition with its own artwork.

About the artist
Karolina Skorek, the artist behind the Alice in Wonderland artwork
Karolina Skorek is an internationally awarded Polish artist working across fine art photography, digital painting and printmaking, with an MA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Her solo exhibitions include Somnium at Villa Decius in Kraków (2026).
Selected works by Karolina. They are not part of this edition: the mat comes with the Alice in Wonderland artwork.

Start with four arrows. Keep the complete PRO X foundation.
The artwork does not change how you learn a four-arrow rhythm game. Use the four active direction panels, begin with a slow chart and step as each moving arrow reaches its target. The low sensor stroke and high sensitivity belong to the mat’s input design; mapping and calibration in the game complete the setup.
A substantial playing surface
The mat measures 85 × 85 × 3 cm and weighs 18 kg. PRO panels, aluminium borders and ABS bumpers form the structure beneath and around the printed surface.
Room for a comfortable session
Anti-slip stands help the mat stay in place. Choose a flat, stable floor, allow space to step off and keep the cable out of your feet’s path. Bare feet or sports shoes are supported.
03 / Start the game
Start with StepMania 5.0 LTEK Edition on Windows
Use the free StepMania 5.0 LTEK Edition beta on Windows. Connect the included USB-A to USB-B cable, check all four inputs and follow the tutorial before moving on to easy songs. The software runs on your computer; the mat supplies the steps. You also need a screen and sound output.
Mac users
Choose a game compatible with your macOS version. The current LTEK Edition package is a Windows download. If your computer has only USB-C ports, provide a suitable adapter or hub.
Older consoles
A separately sold L-TEK PS2/PSX converter provides the dedicated older-console route. Check the exact console and game. The USB cable alone does not establish compatibility with every console.
04 / Timing and shared spaces
Finish the setup around the way you will actually play
Once the four arrows are mapped, use guided calibration for your display and audio system. A 1000 Hz polling rate describes the USB communication interval, not a guaranteed 1 ms response on your screen. If steps consistently feel early or late, follow the timing guide and review the game, display and sound path.
Practice at a manageable pace
Begin with short, easy songs and repeat them until the arrows feel familiar. Increase difficulty gradually rather than using a fast chart to judge an unfamiliar setup.
Consider the floor below
An 18 kg mat still transfers some impact through a floor. Placement, controlled stepping and suitable playing times matter in a shared home. Keep any floor protection stable under the mat.

Enjoy the design, then begin with the basics: four arrows, an easy song and a setup calibrated for your room.

Make room for your first song
Place the mat on a flat, stable floor with space to step off safely. Keep the USB cable out of your stepping area. Use bare feet or suitable sports shoes, and check that the mat stays in place before playing.

Connect and install the game
Connect the mat by USB to your computer. On Windows, download the free StepMania 5.0 LTEK Edition beta from our Software page. The game runs on the computer; you also need a screen and sound output.

Check all four arrows
Use the game’s pad mapping, then check that each physical arrow activates the matching input on screen. If automatic mapping needs help, assign the four arrows manually. Run guided timing calibration for your screen and audio setup.

Start with the tutorial
Follow Ada and Kuba’s tutorial, then choose an easy, slow chart. Step when a moving arrow meets its fixed target on screen. Focus on recognising one arrow at a time, pause when needed, and replay a short song before increasing difficulty.

Who created the artwork, and what does Artist Edition mean?
This is the 2023 Artist Edition 001, Alice in Wonderland by Karolina Skorek. The artwork was selected for this PRO X edition, and L-TEK states that part of every sale supports the artist.
Does the full-surface artwork change the controls?
No. The Artist Edition has four active DDR-style arrow panels. The image covers the surface, but it does not turn all nine visible panels into active gameplay inputs.
What do I need to start playing?
You need the mat, its USB cable, a compatible computer, a screen, sound output and a rhythm game. For Windows, start with the free StepMania 5.0 LTEK Edition beta and follow its mapping and beginner tutorial.
Will it work with my console?
Do not assume that a USB connection makes every console compatible. The dedicated PS1/PS2 route requires the separately sold L-TEK PS2/PSX converter. Check the exact console and game; this does not establish PS4, PS5, Xbox or Switch support.
Does 1000 Hz mean every step appears on screen in 1 ms?
No. It describes the USB polling rate, with a nominal 1 ms interval. The complete response also depends on the game, computer, display and audio path. Map the arrows and calibrate the game for your setup.
